Working offline
Where your work is saved, and counting without signal.
Stock Express saves to the cloud as you go, so the same outlet is on your tablet, laptop and phone. It also keeps working when there is no signal.
The cloud status
The top of the screen always says where your work is:
| It says | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Cloud saved | Everything you typed is in the cloud. |
| Saving to cloud… | It is on its way. |
| Changes waiting to sync | Saved on this device, going up shortly. Tap Sync now to send it straight away. |
| Offline · changes waiting to sync | No signal. Your work is safe on this device and goes up when the signal is back. |
Without signal
Once a device has opened Stock Express, it opens again with no signal, on the last outlet. Every screen works: count, check, deliveries, till. Everything you put in is kept on the device and goes up by itself when you are back online.
A few things need the cloud, and wait for a signal:
- starting a new period, because the cloud keeps the archive,
- Refresh, which fetches what other devices have saved, and
- signing out, so nothing waiting to go up is left behind.
On a tablet, add Stock Express to the home screen (in Chrome, Install as app, or the menu's Add to Home screen) and it opens like any other app.
Updates
New versions of Stock Express arrive by themselves, with nothing to install. A new version waits until your changes have saved to the cloud before it loads.
