The Stock Express guide
How a stock goes in Stock Express, from the count to the report pack, screen by screen.
Stock Express is stocktaking software for stock auditors in the licensed trade. You count on a tablet at the outlet, put in the deliveries and the till, and it works out the stock result and prints the report pack with your name on it.
Where to start
- Used PS Stock Auditor? Start with Coming from PS Stock Auditor. It lists where everything you know from PSSA lives now, and what works differently.
- Want to see a whole stock? Your first stock goes from opening the outlet to printing the pack, in order.
- Looking for one screen? Each one has its own page in the menu, in the same order as the app's sidebar. Or use the search box at the top.
How a stock goes
- Set the period: the opening and closing dates on Stock details.
- Count: tap each item on the Stock count and put the figures on the count pad, one column per location.
- Check: read every figure back on the Stock count check.
- Deliveries and credits: put each invoice and credit note in, and their lines go onto the sheet as purchases and credits.
- Till: type in the till sales to see the till difference.
- Takings: put in the receipts, and the stock result shows the surplus or shortage and the gross profit.
- Print: tick the reports you want and print or save the pack as a PDF.
- Start the next period: closing stock becomes the next opening stock.
What you need
A web browser. Stock Express runs on a tablet, laptop or phone, and there is nothing to install. On a tablet you can add it to the home screen so it opens like an app, and it keeps working without signal in the cellar.
