Coming from PS Stock Auditor

Where everything you know from PSSA lives in Stock Express, and what works differently.

If you have done your stocks in PS Stock Auditor, most of Stock Express will be familiar: houses, groups, deliveries and the extended sheet are all here. This page maps one onto the other.

Your data comes with you

We import your houses from PSSA for you: the product file, groups, suppliers, the stock in hand and your past stocktakes. Your next stock in Stock Express carries on from your last one in PSSA, with its closing stock as the new opening. See Switching over on the main site.

And it works the other way. Any outlet can be downloaded as a PSSA backup at any time, so you are never locked in.

What works differently

It runs in the cloud. There is no PC holding the data. The same outlet is on your tablet, laptop and phone, and two people can work on one job at once. Every change is saved as you go. See Two devices, one outlet.

An item's group comes from its code. The first figure of a five-figure code is its group, or the first two of a six-figure code: 15016 is in group 1, 111105 in group 11. There is no separate group to set on an item.

You count by location on a pad. Each item has a count pad with columns for five locations, the cellar and ullage. They add up to the closing count, and every figure is kept so you can check it afterwards.

Credit notes are separate. In PSSA a credit is a negative line on a delivery note. In Stock Express a credit note is its own entry, quantities only, and goes into the Credits column, never Purchases.

The till is one figure per item, in stock units. Instead of PLU counts per till, you type what the till sold of each item in the same units you count in: bottles, gallons, or dozens for bottled beer.

Nothing is ever lost. Every change to an outlet is in the audit log: who, what, from what and to what. Closed periods are kept whole, and the last close can be undone by an admin.

Not in Stock Express yet

  • Several bars in one house. At the moment each outlet is one bar. Multi-bar, with each bar counted and reported separately, is coming.
  • Some of PSSA's reports, such as the certificate of valuation, sales history and top 30. Tell us which ones you use and we will consider them.
